Some links are paid ads or sponsored ads and the other links are the top search results. Let us see an example. If you search “iPhone price” in the search engine you will be listed with natural results (SEO) and paid results (SME).

How PPC works?

  • Step 1: Businesses or individuals will display their advertisements in the search engine.
  • Step 2: Every time their ad is clicked, businesses have to pay a particular amount to the search engine.
  • Step 3: The businesses will be beneficial by driving more visitors to their site (by clicking the ad).

We can consider PPC as a two-way business, as the search engine will be paid for a single click and the businesses may receive more sale by that single click. For example, if you have to pay an amount of Rs.100 for a click, the visitor may result in a business of Rs.1000, and then we can say that PPC will be an add-on marketing technique to your business.
